Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV3201, TLV3501
Why does the quiescent current of these two comparators(TLV3501A, TLV320x) have so huge difference?
TLV3501A: 3.2mA
TLV320x: 40uA

The quiescent current difference is a result of the comparators difference in speed. Speed in comparators is reflected in the propagation delay specification. For the tlv3501 the prop delay is 10x faster (4.5ns) than the tlv3201 (40ns). You can think of this like bandwidth for amplifiers. The higher the bandwidth, the higher the quiescent current.

Hi Chuck,
Thank you so much. I got it.
There two ICs both use the CMOS technology, right?
Why doesn't TI give the opamp/comparator schematic inside the ICs like before?
If so, we can know more things through the datasheet.
