AMC1301-Q1: About spcifications

Part Number: AMC1301-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1301,

I have desided to use amc1301 IC for bms current measurement. In BMS max current to measure is 120A. Whether this is suitable for such a high current measurement?

  • Hi Joyson,

Welcome to our E2E forum! The AMC1301-Q1 measures voltage across its input terminals. If you review section 9.2.1.2 of the datasheet, you will see that its a simple application of Ohm's Law to determine the size of the shunt resistor that you would need to use in your BMS application. The bigger issue with large currents is the power dissipation in your shunt. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
