THS3491: Minimum Gain of THS3491

Part Number: THS3491

Dear Specialists,

My customer is interested in THS3491 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

I am interested in THS3491 that has very high slew rate, high current output and wide bandwidth.

Could I confirm the minimum voltage gain?

According to the datasheet, it seems to be 2, but I'd like to use as low as possible, hopefully one.

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

Yes you can use it in unity gain, but it depends on the acceptable amount of overshoot. For example, the RGT package in unity gain, with 750 ohms of feedback resistance, has about 53% overshoot, which is a bit more than what is qualifies to put in a datasheet. This overshoot decreases with gain to 10% for Gain=2V/V and a 1k feedback resistor.

    Best regards,

    Sean

  • Hi Sean,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand THS3491 is able to use unity gain, but overshoot is quite large.

I'll share this information with the customer.

If he has an additional question, I consult you.

    I appreciate your great help.

    Best regards,
    Shinichi
