INA233: Figure 43. Typical High-Side Sensing Circuit Configuration, INA233

Part Number: INA233

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask INA233?

On the datasheet "Figure 43. Typical High-Side Sensing Circuit Configuration, INA233",  Vbus connects to IN-.
In case of High-Side Sensing, should VBUS connect to IN-?
We could not find why VBUS connect to IN-.
Could you let us know it?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello Hirotaka,

Thanks for your interest in our INA233. You are right to be confused. That is a mistake in our diagram. Thank you for making us aware of it. Ideally Vbus should be connected to IN+. However, as the rshunt is typically rather small, you could connect to IN- as there typically is a relatively small voltage drop across your shunt or sense resistor. Yet this would give you a less accurate bus and power measurement.
