Putting a simple neutral density filter in front of each photodetector will attenuate the sunlight. Pick an ND number that attenuates the sunlight enough-- probably something like an ND 4.0 (these ND numbers go in logarithmic steps). Look for ND filters in Edmund Scientific; they may have some inexpensive plastic filters.
