INA240: Current sense amplifier selection

Part Number: INA240

I need help selecting a current sense amplifier with the requirements below:

  • 50Mhz open loop gain.
  • Gain = 20 (gain error = 0.19%)
  • Amplifier input offset voltage +/- +0.2mV
  • Temperature drift +/- 2.5uV/K

Small footprint is important, high side current solution can be considered (36V Bus) as well as options with integrated sense resistor.

Happy to discuss further for product roadmap & business case.

  • Hey Carlos,

Thanks for reaching out on the forum. So the INA240 does meet some of those specs. However, all of our current shunt monitor devices are unavoidably closed loop. Is there a particular reason you need the open loop gain bandwidth specification? If your customer absolutely needs to exploit the open loop gain of the amplifier, you might need to direct your question to the op-amp group. However, I suspect their solution will not be as integrated and will cost a lot more board space. If you are wanting to get a better gauge on our future devices, perhaps we can take this offline?
  • Hey Carlos,
As we have taken this offline and are continuing correspondence through email, I am going to close this thread.
