AC current measurement

Thanks for considering to use Texas Instruments. The INA226 is a digital part that will take the average of the input over the conversion period.
If your signal frequency is fast and 50% duty cycle, the current measurement will be half the max current. If you want the current monitor to distinguish between high and low states, the period associated with the frequency of your AC signal must at least be double conversion time. Besides frequency, accuracy will also depend on your measurement range. Lower current measurements have larger error due to input voltage offset and input bias current.
