OPA855: OPA855

Part Number: OPA855

Hello,

I am planning to use an OPA855 as a transimpedance amplifier.

I want to use  Vs+ = +2.5V and Vs- = -2.5V as supply range and I am going to use the device continuously, without the need of switching the Power Down pin ON and OFF.

It is not quite clear to me from the specification document how I should set this value. In the documentation file, from Fig. 23 and 24 it seems that the PD pin must be at VPD= 2.5V to enable the operations, however at page 19 it says: "If the amplifier is configured with ±2.5-V supplies, then the threshold voltages are at –1.85 V and –0.7 V."

I do not quite get what these thresholds are.

It seem to me that from what they say in the specs, if the PD is grounded this is above threshold and therefore it should work, but not quite sure this is a correct interpretation.

Does anyone have a better understanding about how this Power Down pin is supposed to work and therefore what is the correct voltage value to set if I simply want to operate the opamp continuously?

Kind Regards,

Francesco
