INA138: Pin to Pin Compatible with FP130AKR-LF.

Part Number: INA138
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA139, INA169, INA168

Hello Team,

My customer is using competitor's current shut monitor FP130AKR-LF, and now they are questing TI's part b to be second source, I can find out the INA138, but customer said that P2P compatible is must, since INA138 has build in 5K input resistor so this part can't be second source.

Can you suggest TI's correct part to meet my customer's request?

If TI has no proper part today, can you suggest other competitor's part which can P2P with INA138? so we can suggest customer is use INA138 and suggested competitor's part, that's will do.

Thanks.

Martin

  • Hello Martin,

Thanks for reaching out on the forum. So if I understand correctly, your customer wants to use one of our parts as a backup part to haggle our competitor down in price and has not intention of buying our part... Or do you mean to say that he wants two current sensors on his board that he wants to measure different current ranges with, but have the exact same footprint?

For that topology and footprint, we only have the INA138, INA139, INA168, or INA169.
  • Hi Patrick,

    Happy New Year !

Your understanding is incorrect, actually, my customer performs second source is purpose to find back up solution when shortage happen, rather than haggle our competitor down in price, and customer will share a certain percent run rate for second source device.

Since we don't have P2P parts with FP130AKR-LF, we can find another way to sell INA138, I download a competitive landscape from old ESP3, I'll send to your e-mail, can you kind enough to help check it and see if these competitor's parts can P2P compatible with INA138?

    Many thanks,

    Martin
