INA240: how to shut down or low power ?

Part Number: INA240
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR16006

Hi,

Im figuring out a current measurement with INA240. The unit operates with battery power and there are times that the device enter the sleep, low power mode. However the INA240 consumes over 2mA when operating and I dont see any way to put it to low power state. 2mA is 10 more than what the overall sleep current would be, so it needs to put to sleep in order to achieve uA level power consumptions.

In this design the 48V battery power is feed through a high side shunt resistor and the INA240 is fed from 5V supply. 5V supply is from low iq switcher LMR16006 which in this case is constantly on.

What happens if INA240 is just cut off from 5V VCC but its input pins are still hanging on that 48V power rail, can the chip handle this ?

Thanks.
