THS4130: Power Down and Power up speed

Hi,

how fast does the THS4130 goes to power down and how fast can it go to power on?

I am using the LT1206 as a pulser with +15V and -15V supply.

By pulser i mean disabling and enabling the IC with a continuous sine wave on the input.

On the output i have be sine wave "bursts" that comes in a periodic of time.

I want to use the THS4130 instead of the LT1206 and use the power down pin to "make" the burst in differential mode.

Does anyone knows how fast will it turn on and off?

I need to know because i need controll the number of sine waves in a burst sequence.

So here is a scope from what i am doing with LT1206

You can see on the scope that it takes less than 1us to send the signal to the output and less than 1us to stop it.

Can the THS4130 do this and can this be quicker?

    as the datasheet of THS4130 doesn't contain even the least timing specifications, I would not use the power-down feature for a multiplexing application. I think it's only a true power-down in order to save supply current.

    Have you read section 8.4.1 of datasheet?

    But, as far as I know, TI has other OPAmp which can be used for multiplexing.

    so what i am trying to do is what the TX517 is for, an ultrasound trasmitter.
    But i am not using CPLD or FPGA jus a MCU. So i want to make a sine wave pulse with an opamp.
    Do you know a TI opamp that can handle 150mA output current, can be supplied at +15V and -15V and can be used forhigh speed multiplexing?

  • Hello Michael,

    The THS3115 may be suitable for your application. This device can be run at at a total supply voltage of 30V, can output 270mA of current at this supply configuration and has a disable and enable time of 200ns and 300ns respectively.
