INA181: DBV package

Part Number: INA181

Hello,

Our customer use the INA181, have a question about package.

The customer use the INA181 with SOT-23 (DBV) package.

They can not find the Pin 1 Index.

I check the package information on the DS.

It is mentioned "OPTIONAL  ORIENTATION MARKING".

If we don't order, there is no Pin 1 index?

Best Regards,

Naoki Aoyama

  • Hello Naoki,

Thanks for coming to the forum to address your issue.

I am not sure what you mean when you say "If we don't order, there is no Pin 1 index?" There should be a pin 1 index. According to the datasheet there can be two variations: a marking in the pin 1 quadrant or a stripe from Q1 to Q2 (pin 1 to pin 3). This is the "OPTIONAL ORIENTATION MARKING" the datasheet is referring to.

I think the first pin 1 variation I mentioned may also be a stripe from pin 1 to pin 6, so customer should consider this a possible marking as well.

Please let us know if there is no pin 1 marking and send a picture of this as well.

    Sincerely,
    Peter Iliya

  • Hello Peter,

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes, there is a stripe between pin1 and pin6.

Is this stripe pin 1 index?

I thought that the Pin 1 index is white circle or something.

  • Naoki,

Yes, the stripe represents the pin1 index and sets the orientation of the device to the datasheet drawings and pinout.

The pin 1 index can be a circle, but in this case it is not. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Sincerely,
