PGA308: Thermal Pad Connection for the DRK Package

Hello,

The datasheet for the PGA308 does not mention what to connect the thermal pad connection to on the PCB. My guess is that either of these options will work but I would like to make sure:

Can the thermal pad be tied directly to ground?
Can the thermal pad be soldered to a floating copper plane?

On the PGA308, the preferred option is to connect the thermal path to GND.

Thanks for the quick help, that is what I was assuming but I couldn't find it explicitly stated anywhere in the datasheet. At least it is now searchable on E2E for other people to see.
