LPV812: Merging two reference designs

Part Number: LPV812
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR2311, CC2652R,

Hi guys

I would like to ask/confirm if my circuit designs is workable.

I took reference from two designs,

1. MSP430FR2311 Microcontroller IR Reflection Sensing Reference Design(www.ti.com/.../TIDM-FRAM-IRREFLECTIONSENSING)

2. Always-on Low-power Gas Sensing with 10+ Year Coin Cell Battery Life Reference Design(http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00756

Currently, I am trying to implement CC2652R instead of MSP430FR2311. And I need an additional TIA circuitry.

From the reference 1, I do not know which TI Amp do they use as it is internal built in.

So, I followed reference 2, and use the external TIA circuit. Will this work?

Reference 2 uses LPV812. However, should my feedback components be the same? or should i follow reference 1?

Any kind soul please help.

Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Daniel Lim

  • Hi Daniel,

As you noted, because the first reference design you referenced uses an internal amplifier, that one won't be of too much help to you.

If you are going to use the same components as the second reference design, then you can keep the circuit components the same. If you plan on using a different sensor, then you'll want to verify that the components are chosen correctly.

For more help on designing a transimpedance amplifier circuit, I recommend taking a look at the circuit cookbook we have on this topic:

  • Hi Paul

    Thank you for the information.

I will test out the circuit with reference to the 2nd one.

    Cheers
