Square to sine for sound analog input

Hi Team,

We plan to use a OP to achieve square to sine for sound analog input.

Our frequency is about 20~20kHz, and PWM voltage is 1.8V.

Please kindly suggest suitable OP solution.

Thanks

  • Hi Daniel,

The common analog solution to convert a Square wave, or PWM wave to a sine wave is to run the digital waveform through a low-pass filter. The complexity, or order of the filter required being dependent on the level of sine wave distortion that must be achieved.

The issue with this approach here is the very wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range. There isn't an analog filter design that can be adjusted over that wide of range. In general, filters are designed for fixed frequency operation.

Have I misinterpreted your requirement, or is my understanding correct?
