LMH5401: LM5401 parameters test Circuit

Part Number: LMH5401

I would like to test this amplifier.  does any one have the test circuit how to test the following parameters?

  1. Input offset Voltage
  2. Input bias current
  3. input offset current
  4. Quiescent current
  5. output voltage
  6. Power Supply Rejection Ratio
  7. Common-mode offset voltage
  8. Voltage threshold

Thanks,

  • Hi Bonzai,

why would you want to test these parameters? Don't you trust the datasheet?

    Kai
  • Yes, I trust datasheet but I need to test the part for radiation.  I would like to find out how much those parameters degradation after irradiated.

  • Hi Bonzai,

The parameter measurement information section of the datasheet holds information on how the parts were tested as well as some test schematics. We don't have any specific test circuit to perform the tests you have mentioned.
We also do have the EVM which includes the schematic for the EVM to help you use the part for optimal measurements.

  • Hello Bonzai, couple of things -

    1. What you are really asking for is the final ATE setups for production test. Those are normally very detailed (and somewhat confidential) servo loop type test loop to keep the device stable but allow accurate DC parametric measurement. Only DC is ATE at final test.
    2. The LMH5401 was clearly a candidate for space and has been picked up by the Hi-Rel group in TI where they have released a space qualified. They might have a lot more detail on what they did in radiation testing. Sometimes there is a slight die change for the SP flow.

    3. The reference to the data sheet for test set ups is more for the typical AC characterization curves. Also very important, but not the DC parametrics you listed above.
  • Hi Binzai,

I would prepare very simple circuits for checking these parameters. One LMH5401 circuit for each parameter. Nothing sophisticated.

  • Hello Bonzai,

Do you plan to test the commercial part or the space rated part?  We offer an evaluation board for the LMH5401 commercial version, it is available on TI.com.

Michael is correct, the DC parameters will be the same between the commercial part and our space rated part.  The AC parameters will be different because the space version comes in a space rated package which is larger.

You should be able to test all of the parameters you listed on the evaluation module.

    Loren
