OPA2822: Newer Alternatives to Opamps

Part Number: OPA2822
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA820, OPA690, OPA835, OPA2889, OPA837, OPA2890, OPA838, OPA890, OPA836

Hello team,

I'm looking for newer alternatives to a few of our opamps like OPA2822, OPA690, OPA820. They are all quite dated and was thinking if we have newer alternatives that have low consumption (5mA), quite fast, low cost and low noise 2.0nV/√Hz.

Any suggestion would really help.

Thank you in advance,

Best regards,

Adrian

  • hello Adrian, while dated, those are in some ways still the leaders in the +/-5V choices. I did a wide review of VFA topologies related to getting slew enhancement in this article. There were some later parts (OPA890 and OPA2890) and then only in dual, the OPA2889. The development direction then went off into the negative rail input RRout with the OPA835, OPA836 and most recently the OPA837 (and decomp OPA838) on single 5V supply and of course the FDA's.

  • Hi Adrian,

Did Michael's response help you out regarding those parts? Is there a specific reason you were looking for low consumption (5mA), quite fast, low cost and low noise 2.0nV/√Hz? Or are you seeing any competitor parts you that have these capabilities and want to replace?

    Thanks!
