LM321: slewrate is sufficient for driving 20v/usec

Lokeshwara works in my team .
Went thru the link sent by you and found many opamps with >3000 slew rate like LM6171,LM7171,LM7172 and buf634a.Will these ICs take input voltage >18v and give me pulse amplified from 3.3v to at least 18v?Signal PW is 1usec and time period is 3KHz.

Hi Seema,

Can you help us understand your circuit design or application a little bit better? I understand that the input signal rises at 20V/us, that the pulse width is 1us and that the overall period is 333us. From your message, the input pulse is 3.3V in amplitude and the desired output is 18V amplitude, correct?

Your circuit will have to have a gain of about 6, use an op-amp that can support high voltages, and have fairly large GBW. The slew rate will need to be greater than 20V/us due to the desired output signal being so large and short. I calculate that a slew rate of 180V/us or greater would be a good place to start looking.

I threw your circuit into TINA-TI and built an input signal based on what you've described. Using the OPA197, you can see that a part with 20V/us isn't going to work. Look at other parts and try modeling the circuit to see if they work as expected. I'll inform the high speed team of your question and they may be able to chime in with a good recommendation.

The circuit has to be made for boosting a pulse of 1usec with 3 KHz frequency coming out from FPGA having 3.3v amplitude to a signal of minimum 18v required by display module.

As you rightly said,I need minimum gain of 6 .Though I am getting many options for high slew rate ,but as the rate goes higher,max voltage supported by  opamp  gets lower.I was searching something with voltage rail of +20v and -20v with high slew rate so that the signal can be   amplified with sharp rise and fall.

Will check out TINA circuit and try to explore other options.
