Can the NC pins be grounded? Does the case of the part contain metal and/or is it isolated or grounded?

Hi Raymond,

NC pins are not internally connected to anything on the die, so if you are concerned about floating metal you can tie them to whatever potential you would like.

The device does have a metal lid, is this what you are referring to? I do not believe this is internally connected to anything on the die, but I can double check to be sure.

Hey Raymond,

The 16 lead CLGA package uses a leadframe with a ceramic base and a ceramic lid that is glass-frit sealed. Therefore the lid is isolated and non-conductive. There is no other metal in the case.
