PGA309: Outputting out of tolerance

Part Number: PGA309

Hello All,

Im currently having a rather strange issue with the PGA309. I have been using this IC for roughly 2 years and haven't seen an issue like it before.

Our calibration file requirements are for Vlow=.2625V and Vhigh=3.583V.

Calibration goes well and displays the output to be accurate, as expected. However, once disconnected from the Multical system and hooked up to a simple DMM we are seeing that the 309 is almost "forgetting" the calibration.

Vlow_actual= ~0.3V and Vhigh_actual = ~3.9V.

Has anyone on this forum ever seen this issue before? Happy to post any calibration files or register details as needed.

Thanks!

  • Hi Jeffrey,

    I have a few questions.

If you can please provide the calibration files as well as the schematic details of the PGA309 test card you are connecting to the multi-cal system.

Does this happen with several PGA309 test cards or is it an isolated board that has the issue?  In your application, are you able to verify that the EEPROM calibration register information is still available on the external EEPROM of the failing device?  Are the failing voltages being measured with high precision meter such as the 34401 DMM or similar?

    Many Thanks,

    Best Regards,

    Luis

  • Hi Jeffrey,

Per the email discussion, the issue was related to the EEPROM programming/communication.

Please let me know if you have further queries.

    Best Regards,

    Luis
