LOG114: log114 leakage current leading to output fail mechanism

Part Number: LOG114

HI  Thomas

I have designed log114 in our product to detect optical power, there are 16pcs log114 in our PCBA.

Sometimes we met some output issue when there is some flux remaining on the PCBA.

would you please explain the mechanism why remaining flux affect log 114 performance?

This is urgent issue, would you please help me to reply ASAP, thanks

Flux acts as a large value resistor. In very low current applications the leakage caused by flux contamination can be close to the value being measured. This value also tends to be unstable and will vary with temperature.

It important to thoroughly clean your board with whatever solvent is recommended for the type of flux used. We typically use organic/water based flux, so we clean our boards in a ultrasonic cleaner with deionized water, then we bake in an oven for 20-30 minutes at 75C.

    Regards
