About common-emitter amplifier

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA2990

Hi,

Customers are looking for op amps with specs listed below.

・rail to rail out put
・Slew Rate ≧ 10V/μS
・VDD ≧ 40V
・Bipolar input
・Cross connection feed forward (common-emitter)

Could you introduce an Opamp that supports these?

Best Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hello Yusuke-san,

What is the reason they would like a bipolar input stage?

What is the reason they need a cross connection feed forward (common-emitter) design?

Usually customers request an op amp to have certain specs (RRI, RRO, Slew Rate, Offset Voltage, Bandwidth, etc.). As long as the op amp meets the design requirements it does not matter how the op amp is designed.

With that said, I recommend taking a look at the OPA2990 which is our new 40V RRIO op amp. However, this op amp uses a CMOS input stage. As I mentioned before as long as the specs meet the need of the customer it normally does not matter what input stage is used or design topology is used.

  • Hello Yusuke-san,

Do you still need any support with your request? I would be happy to help you if can you provide answers to my questions above.

    Thank you,

  • Tim-san,

    Thank you for your response.
    Sorry for my late reply.

I introduce OPA2990 to the customer.
And I am hearing about the required specifications.

However, there is no feedback from the customer.
I will contact you when we know that.

    Best Regards,
    Yusuke
