LM675: Single Supply?

Part Number: LM675

Hi.

1.- Can LM675 work with single supply?

2.- Which is the minimum supply voltage for single supply? (Can it work with a single supply of +15V?)

3.- I have a LM675 supplied with a dual supply of +/-15. And the LM675 is quite hot even with no current at the output pin. Is this normal?. Note: The component is on the air (not fixed to the PCB and has no heat sink)

Without a schematic of what you are trying to do,cannot answer definitely. However

1. Total supply range is 16V to 60V,so for single supply,you need >16V.

2.not soldered down?? quite likely oscillating causing that high temp

3. to complete design, need to consider I/O headrooms - true with all op amps, reviewed in attached article, this was Insight #1 since this comes up all the time (almost more than instability)

Hi,

3. With a supply current of 17mA at +/-15V heat dissipation is about 0.5W. This can warm up the LM675. See the chapter "POWER DISSIPATION AND HEAT SINKING " of datasheet. Another reason is that the LM675 is oscillating.
