INA826: Differential to single ended application

Hello team,

Customer is needing to convert a differential signal coming from THS4131 in their design to a single ended signal and considering INA826. Would INA826 be a suitable option for a differential to single ended conversion?

I am not sure of the signal BW, but given THS4131 is higher BW was thinking something like THS3215 may be a better option. I do not have more info on the application at this point but can ask the customer if I understand what is needed.

    There are at least 10 different ways to do diff to single. Much more detail would be needed. At 1Mhz gain of 1, the INA826 seems inadequate. The THS3215 seems overkill. 

    1. DC or AC coupled

    2.Signal swings, desired final output Vpp (any gain in the diff to single stage)

    3. desired AC response, BW, distortion, noise

    4. any DC precision needs, output DC level? 

    5 Load? 

    etc, etc, etc.

    Hi Sepeedah,

    Differential to single-ended conversion is an integral part of an instrumentation amplifier. The differential input voltage is buffered and amplified, and a single-ended output voltage is provided.

    But to Michael's point, we would need to know more information about the signals coming in and the desired output. 

    Please provide the following:

    • What are the signals coming into the amplifier? Amplitude and frequency.
    • Do you need the INA to gain up this differential signal?
    • What is the desired output? Amplitude and frequency
    • Is there a DC precision requirement?

    If you can draw what you need and provide more insight to all the nodes, we can help you find the correct INA and THS.
