INA231: Input impedance for the shunt pin inputs (V+ and V-)

Part Number: INA231

Hi Team,

We have a customer asking for the input impedance for the shunt pin inputs (V+ and V-) because only the input impedance for the bus pin input is listed in the datasheet.

Do you have information to share for the input impedance for the shunt pin inputs (V+ and V-)?

Thanks!

Jonathan

  • Hi Jonathan,

The differential input impedance between the input pins is 12Kohm; and the common mode input impedance of the two input pins is a combined 10 mega Ohms approximately when common mode voltage is higher than supply voltage. The equivalent input impedance is lower otherwise, but the input bias current should still be under 20uA. The IB vs Common mode voltage characteristics can be found in this plot:

  • Hi Guang,

Thank you for this very informative answer you have given to me.
I will now share this with the customer.

    Thanks!

    Jonathan
