OPA615: OPA615EVM Layout concerns

Part Number: OPA615

Dear colleague,

Our customer is using OPA615, they find in our OPA615EVM, it is not copper on the OPA615 back, as below.

I check the datasheet, I want to confirm whether to minimize parasitic capacitance to any AC ground for all of the signal I/O pins is the purpose?

Thanks a lot!

Best Regards,

Rock Su

  • Hello Rock,

That is correct. Both unpopulated PCB boards have a cutout off the copper where the op amp would be placed for the exact reason you have shown in your linked image. It is to reduce any unwanted parasitic capacitance around both input and output pins.

    Thank you,

    Sima
