op-amp

I'm currently using this op-amp manufactured by Texas instruments (296-1306-6-ND) https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/texas-instruments/TLC2274CDR/296-1306-6-ND/747172/ to amplify 4 signals - signal goes in one of four IN and goes OUT as amplified. I plan to skip from 4 signals to 8 or event and I'm wondering if Texas instruments sell other op-amps which have at least 8 or 10 circuits (in and out) so I could amplify 8-10 signals.

I would appreciate any advice.

  • Hello Elzbieta,

I am not aware of any TI op amps that incorporate 8 to 10 internal amplifiers. I believe the industry standards are 1, 2 and 4 op amps per package. There are some uncommon instances of 3 per package. I do not know of any op amps packages that have more than 4 per package. Most often two "quad" op amps having 4 internal op amps would be used to satisfy an 8 op amp requirement.

  • Hi Elzbieta,

The RHA2116 family of products that you mention consists of an array of fixed gain amplifiers followed by a multiplexer. It certainly is well suited for a fixed-gain application requiring 16x or 32x input amplifiers, and an output multiplexer.

The operational amplifiers that we were originally discussing are versatile in terms of how they can be configured, and the gain they ca be set to. In the case of operational amplifiers the 1, 2 or 4 amplifiers per package are standard.
