PGA309's Test Pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA309, PGA308, ADS1672

Hello,

Can the PGA309’s TEST pin be permanently asserted to disable its EEPROM linearization function and work permanently with through a microcontroller?

Can you recommend any good ratiometric ADC that is >18bits, low noise and can sample at >600KS/s preferably with built-in PGA.

Thanks,

Joy

  • Yes.  Connecting test to permanently disable the EEPROM can be used to connect the PGA309 to a micro-controller.  You should also look at the PGA308 if you are using the device in this mode.  The PGA308 has the same analog path as the PGA309 but is smaller, lower noise and has a wider gain range.

ADS1672 is a good fit for your A/D specification.  Are you planning on using this A/D with the PGA309 or is this a separate project?  This device seems like over-kill if you are using it with the PGA309.
