Part Number: XTR111
We have implemented an XTR111 with 12.7V VSP (decoupled with 100n), REGF shorted to REGS, MOSFET Directly on IS/VG, and VIN is driven from a OpAmp, and swings from 0->0.6V, Rset = 330ohm (Should correspond to 0-20mA). A S1G diode is connected between drain and output in conducting direction, to protect against reverse connections. EDIT: OD is pulled to ground, /EF is floating. GND and Pad is tied to ground.
This works very well when connected to a 100 ohm load, all the way up to 500ohm, as expected - measured with a multimeter in series with the load resistor. But for load resistors from ~100 ohm down to the burden resistor in the multimeter, we get an error on the current loop. EDIT 2: To clarify; measured on a multimeter on the current input.
What measures as 4 mA from 100 ohm and up, gives ~3.7mA with lower than 100 ohm
What measures as 17.5 mA from 100 ohm and up, gives 18.6 mA with lower than 100 ohm
What could be the issue here?
