TLV6001: TLV6001 Power Supply Requirements

Part Number: AMC1311-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV6001

We are planning to use AMC1311B for AC Voltage measurement. Schematic is as given beloe

Question:
1) We would like to measure both positive and negative side of the input.ie. -3.3V to +3.3V So is it required to give –ve supply to Pin 2 of U2 (TLV6001) in the above diagram? Please note that we are using filtering –ve and +ve to opamps used in filter circuit as shown below.

Or shall I modify as given below...

Will the above Circtuit works ?

Requesting for quick reply.

  • Hi Haranath,

TLV6001 has a recommended power-supply voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V or +/-0.9V to +/-2.75V. So the device won't work as desired when using a power supply of +/-3.3V. And yes, you need to use a dual-supply if you would like to measure below ground.

Based on your application, looks like you will need to use a high-voltage part. Can you provide me your desired input and output for the op amp, based on that I can recommend a part that will work for you along with a recommended circuit configuration.

For the filtering circuit, looks like you're using OP400, this is an analog part. Can you also elaborate on what's the purpose of the filtering circuit?

    Best Regards,
