INA196: Any reference circuit for measuring +/- 300V 50A using INA19x ?

Part Number: INA196

Hi

Is there any reference circuit for measuring +/- 300V 50A using INA19x ?

  • Hi PY,

I assume you intend to have the current sense amplifier configured in “high side”, therefore it has to deal with ±300V. I’m not aware of an INA196 reference circuit that can sustain this use condition.

There are high voltage techniques that work for one side only, such as this one.

There are isolation techniques that should work, here is an example. We do have TMCS1100 and TMCS1101 which offer galvanic isolation and a much simpler solution with no shunt resistor required, if the current capability (20A continuous) is adequate.

If INA196 is use in low side configuration (ground side), it should be OK however.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

    Regards, Guang
