There is ambiguity on the R,thetaJA parameter in the OPA551 datasheet for the PDIP-8 package. Section 6.4 shows 44.1 C/W, but section 10.3 states 100 C/W. See below. What is the correct value?

Hello Antenna_Head,
The OPA551Thermal Information table 6.4 was an update to the datasheet that was made in recent years. It contains the most recent information for the product. I found the original OPA551 datasheet form 20+ years ago and section 10.3 and a table entry both listed the older numbers listed seen in today's section 10.3. Apparently, when the datasheet was updated section 10.3 wasn't updated to reflect the newer thermal numbers.
I checked the information in table 6.4 against a couple of other op amps having somewhat comparable power dissipation and the 8-pin PDIP package. The thermal numbers were in the 40 °C/W to 50 °C/W range for them as well. Use the OPA551 Table 6.4 information for your thermal calculations.
Regards, Thomas
