We need a replacement for the LM6181IN which has been discontinued. A pin-for-pin PDIP (8 pin DIP thru-hole) would be preferred, but an SMT part would work too.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hello Hank,
Unfortunately, there are no current-feedback amplifiers in a PDIP package. Can you please provide the key parameters you are looking for?
Best,
Hasan Babiker
Hi Hasan,
Thanks for checking this...
We use this as a wideband analog amplifier. It needs to be able to drive a 50 (or75) ohm load with enough bandwidth to accommodate uncompressed PCM digital audio at a bit rate up to 192 kHz.
A PDIP package would be preferable, but SMT part would work OK too. Any thoughts?
Thank you
Hello Hank,
In terms of parts that are similar to the LM6181, the THS3491 & THS3001 are the only two single-ended current feedback amplifiers that can go up to the same supply range of 32V. Both of these parts have greater bandwidth and slew rate capabilities in comparison to the LM6181.
If the supplies aren't a main concern there are other options as well. If you could provide me with a sim file or a schematic including the input/output requirements I can better help explore different options.
Best,
Hasan Babiker
Hi Hasan,
Thank you for that info!
Our circuit runs on a bipolar power supply, + and - 12 VDC.
If you give me your direct email address, I'll send a schematic. It's a very simple amplifier, but I don't want to post it on this public forum.
Thanks again,
