PGA308: external parts value in the User's Guide

Part Number: PGA308

Hi,

Often put a 47pF between VOUT and VSJ pin in the User's Guide. But in Fig.5-2, there is 10pF between VOUT and VSJ pin in the User's Guide.

Which value do we select or how do we decide this capacitance value?

Now, we think separate the VOUT (output) / 1W (write to IC) like a Fig.5-2.

Best regards,

KT

  • Hi KT,

I would exactly adopt (Riso, CL, CF, ...) what is shown in the "Typical Application Circuits" (section 6.1 of datasheet). So, I would choose CF = 47pF.

  • HI KT,

The VSJ pin is the summing junction or inverting terminal of the output amplifier; and it is used for output amplifier compensation when driving large capacitive loads (loads above 100pF) and/or for using external gain resistors to set the gain of the output amplifier.

Using the CF=47pF compensation between Vout and VSJ with RISO 100-Ohms and CL=10nF will work well in either three or four-terminal configuration.

    Thank you and Regards,

    Luis
