Hi,

Could you please let me know if you have any concerns when applying the ac coupled input to LM2917M-8/NOPB with the zener regulated frequency to voltage converter?

    Kato-san,

    The LM2917-N can be RC coupled as you have shown. The RC circuit provides a differentiator function right before the LM2917-N input. The high/low transistor output transitions will be differentiated and produce negative and positive spikes occurring at the switching frequency rate. The negative going spikes will trigger the LM2917-N input comparator. This technique may also be applied to trigger the LM2907-N input comparator.
