V to I Circuit with no common spans

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR110

Hello everybody,

I need to develop a V/I circuit. I think XTR110 is the best IC for this application, but need to know your thoughts about this: The current loop, need to drive 0-25mA output @ 0-10V input... Besides, need to implement another circuit to get 0-55mA @ 0-10V inputs for driving high impedance loads. I need the higher possible accuracy since the Vin is comming from a 12 bits DAC and the circuit will be part of a I/P calibration device. Are my assumptions ok by using this IC? Any tip you deem aplicable?

Thanks to all in advance,

Regards,

Marcos

  • Marcos,

The XTR110 will work well for your application with non-standard spans. Simply make sure your external components meet the requirements of Equation 1 on p.6 of the data sheet, and pay close attention to the "Span Adjustment" and "Extended Span" sections.
