Noise Bandwidth for BPF

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hello,

How can i find the noise bandwidth for a Bandpass filter?

Thank you.

  • Do you have a BPF design, in a TINA file preferrably

  • Thank you Micheal,

No, because the opamp that i am using is LT6078 , this model does not exit in TINA-TI.  IN general how do I determine the Noise bandwidth for Band pass. I know how to find noise bandwidth for Low Pass filter.

    Thank you

  • Well the general definition is the same linear gain bandwidth that will integrate the same noise power as the actual filter. For a theoretical approach you would integrate the voltage gain squared of your response - personally, I would run a sim of the circuit for integrated output noise and solve from there. You would need an input noise source that dominates the filter terms extract that.

  • Well using the LTC6078 implies an active filter of some shape, really just trying to get that shape simulating in TINA to put in a large input flat spot noise and run an integrated noise simulation to extract the actual NPB,

Here are some TI options if you wanted to pursue here - perhaps you should be asking LT for this help? It is odd that TINA V11 does not have this in its library,
