OPA388: Reg : IC Current consumption

Part Number: OPA388
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9306, TCA9539, MSP430F5659, TXB0304

Hi,

I am working on a new board design with the below mentioned peripherals.

As of now, I am using each chip ideal current and each pin current(depending on the use case) to measure the worst case current consumption for all the ICs.

Planning to use TI TLV70036 150mA LDO to power up the board. Kindly let me know if there is any other way to calculate the worst case current and select an LDO appropriately.

ICs used : PCA9306, OPA388, TCA9539, TXB0304, MSP430F5659

What do you mean by "each chip ideal current and each pin current"? Does this include all the load currents the output of OPAmp has to drive, including the current in the feedback loop of OPAmp?

    Can you post a schematic?

    Kai

  • Radhakrishnan,

The total current required from the LDO for proper operation of the circuit, includes sum of all the quiescent current of all IC's plus all the current loads being sourced from all the chips you use.  Thus, in order to determine the worst-case current need you need to show the schematic including supply voltages and loads you drive.
