THS4520 exposed pad

I'm looking at the THS4520, which has an exposed pad that must be soldered to the board.  I can find no information indicating how this pad is internally connected, if at all.  The EVM schematic implies that it should be connected to system ground, but there is no mention of how the pad is connected internally.  Any information would be appreciated.

    The pad is not electrically connected to any nodes inside the amplifier. While it should be okay to connect the pad to any voltage within the THS4520's supply range, the recommended connection is to ground as this is usually the largest continuous conductor (low noise, good heat sink) on the PCB.
