AMC1311-Q1: AMC1311-Q1 ICROSS Setting

Part Number: AMC1311-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1311

Hi Team,

May I know if AMC1311-Q1 has a requirement on ICROSS setting?

In AMC1311-Q1 datasheet design example, we set ICROSS to be 0.1mA maximum, as my understanding this value should be a customer setting one considering power dissipation on resister divider. But customer want to make sure if it will cause any trouble to AMC1311-Q1(like affect accuracy) if setting ICROSS to be 0.1mA<ICROSS<1mA?

Best Regards,

Livia

  • Yazhu,

This is purely a design example. 0.1mA<ICROSS<1mA will be fine. The only restriction is that there is less than 10mA of current flowing into the input pin of the device. Given that the input impedance of the AMC1311 is quite large, it would take a significant amount of current to cause an issue. The other thing to consider is the heating of the shunt resistor. As the current flowing through the shunt resistor increases, the power dissipation will increase, causing drift errors.
