PGA281: PGA281 power supply interface

Part Number: PGA281

My input range is 2.5mV to 20V(DC/Uni polar), if i given +/- 18 or +/-15 supply i can't measure the signal above above 18V or 15V(18-2.5) due to common mode range specified in datasheet. For achieving this range can i drive PGA281 with positive +24V & -5V so that i can cover entire my input range.

  • HI Kiran,

If you signal is 2.5mV to 20V DC unipolar referred to GND, the PGA281 requires a minimum negative input stage supply of VSN = -2.5V and VSP=+22.5V (inputs 2.5V from the rail supplies). The device is specified with a voltage range VSP-VSN up to 36V; therefore in your case, VSP-VSN is 29V, which is well inside the valid VSP/VSN supply range. Therefore, VSP=+24V and VSN = -5V works well in your case...

    Thank you and Regards,

    Luis
