AMC1300: AMC1300 short protection delay time

Dear team,

I want to confirm when AMC1300 with short-circuit protection, what's the delay time? Customer measured in their board is about 6us, but I have not seen it on datasheet.

    Hi Sammi,

    hhm, why is the short-circuit protection important for the customer? Directly at the output should sit the resistors of output filter or the resistors of differential amplifier. So there is virtually no chance for a short circuit at the output.

    Hi Sammi,

    I suspect you are asking about short circuit protection at the system level.  The AMC1300 delay from input to output is 3.4uS MAX (section 5 page 3).  If your customer measures 6uS delay before shutting down the system, they have ~2.6uS (or more) delay through the rest of the circuitry.
