AMC1300: Zener diode replaced by a LDO at VDD1

Hi, I'm using AMC1300 to measure motor current. the AMC1300 connection is similar to Figure 51. 

Could I replace Zener diode Z1 and R1 (refer Figure 55) by a LDO like 78L05? Is there any side effect other than LDO power dissipation?
