XTR111: External Clamping Circuit

Part Number: XTR111
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR305, XTR300

Hi Team,

I have a customer that has been using the XTR111 in a number of their designs. We were wondering if there is an alternative solution similar to this that doesn't have an external FET and clamping circuit (Seen on page 14 of datasheet).

  • Hello,

The XTR300 and XTR305 are similar products without the external FET and clamping circuit. They both have a user selectable voltage or current output. In current output mode, both of these products use a similar transfer function to the XTR111 with Rset and Ros resistors. You can view the current output circuit configuration on page 8 of the XTR300 datasheet, or page 17 of the XTR305 datasheet.

Another alternative would be to build a discrete solution.
