THS4031: Issue of PSPICE model for THS4031

Part Number: THS4031
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA355

Hello,

I download PSPICE model (sloj005a.zip) for THS4031 from TI web site. (www.ti.com/.../sloj005)

I inport these PSPICE model files (ths4031.lib and ths4031.olb) to OrCAD PSPICE simulator.

However THS4031 PSPICE model does not work on OrCAD PSPICE simulation.

I would like to confirm that contents of ths4031.lib are normal.

Note that the OPA355 PSPICE model file  (sbom875.zip) imported by the same method worked normally on OrCAD PSPICE simulation,
so I don't think it is an import problem to OrCAD PSPICE simulator.

Regards,

MESH

  • MESH,

I compared the THS4031 library file from the TI website to the file included with PSPICE for TI and found them to be identical.  This suggests the contents of the library file may be complete/correct.  Could you elaborate on what circuit configuration you are attempting to use the THS4031 model?

Also, I want to double-check you properly imported the ths4031.olb file correctly, via "Place Part" > "Add Library" method in OrCAD PSPICE.  I recognize you mentioned your method worked with the OPA355, I am just confirming your method here.

In short, if you could clarify how you are using/testing the THS4031 model I can better understand why it is not working as intended.

  • Hello Alec,

    Thank you for your reply.
Today I tried reinport THS4031.lib and THS4031.olb files to OrCAD PSPICE library folder.
And I executed setting of simulation profile to add THS4031.lib file and setting of design file to add THS4031.olb file.
As a result, the TH4031 circuit simulation worked.
I think there was something wrong with yesterday's import process.
    I'm sorry.

The simulation circuit is same circuit as Figure 6 on application report (SBAA135A).
As a result of circuit simulation, it was confirmed that the THS4031 model outputs an appropriate signal according to the output current from the DAC.

  • MESH,

I am glad you were able to get the THS4031 files to work.  I appreciate you giving some context for your circuit as well, thought I am happy to see you are no longer having issues with SPICE model.

Good luck with the rest of your design.

    Best Regards,

    Alec Saebeler
