THS6212: THS6212 parameter

Part Number: THS6212
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS6222

Hi team,

Parameters can be seen in the datasheet of THS6212 :

Inverting input bias current matching

Input offset voltage matching

How to understand these two parameters? How are they defined

  • Hello Amy,

This is meant to represent how closely the input bias current & input offset voltage match between the two amplifiers in the package.

  • Hi Hasan,

    Thank you for your reply.

Our customer wants to know the value of "Noninverting input bias current matching", but it is not given in the datasheet (inverting input bias current matching value is given). What's more, many similar products do not list the parameter "Noninverting input bias current matching". What is the reason for this

  • Hello Amy,

We do not have available data for matching of the non-inverting pin.

In regards to your question on why this isn't included in this datasheet or similar datasheets... this is likely because the magnitude of bias current at the non-inverting pin is significantly less than that at the inverting pin (Note 5.5uA max vs. 55uA). In addition to this the impedance seen by the non-inverting pin is typically much smaller than feedback resistance seen by inverting pin. Note equation 4 of THS6212 datasheet where you can see impact of non-inverting vs inverting bias current on output offset:

Note that the THS6222 is a pin-compatible upgrade to the THS6212, here is a short video discussing some of its benefits over THS6212.
