Obsolete parts

Hi,

I don't know if my post is in the right forum ; just have a question concerning TI obsolete parts : for a new design, I'll use many TI components (amplifier, data converters, ..) ; currently, I can know the product status of each one (ACTIVE, OBSOLETE, ...) on the component specific product page.

But if I want more information (first production, approximate obsolescence date, ..), who can I ask ? Because I don't want to use a component if it's obsolete in 3-4 years...

See the Product life cycle page.

The "safest" parts are those that are bought by many other customers. To find out which ones those are, sort by stock quantity on any distributor's web site.

So you can't be more specific concerning the approximate obsolescence date of each component ?

Or define a minimum production period in years?

There is a desired minimum production period of 10 years, but that does not help against suppliers making some component obsolete.

TI does not promise more because it cannot predict the future.
