Pspice for noise analysis

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL072

Hi team,

When I use Pspice for noise analysis of TL072, it appeared the error.

1. Could you please help me analysis that?

2. Or could you please give me the template project for noise analysis of the amplifier?

Best Regards

Zhihong Huang

  • Hello Zhihong,

I suggest looking at AN1516 to test the model, it has descriptions of the test setups but also has embedded test circuits that download onto your computer.

I have gone ahead and tested it out before suggesting it to you and it would seem that although the simulation and test setup are correct, the results for this amplifier do not match the datasheet.

This suggests to me that this older model does not actively model the noise. Luckily, the TL07xH series will have an updated model out soon.

    All the best,
    Carolina

  • Hello Mr. Huang,

The TINA V11 has a couple of TL072 models, only the TINA version works and its encrypted.

I did not test much on that model, but the SSBW seems right but the noise is flat at 8.25nV input.

You can use a noise macro in series with that model V+ input to modify it externally to match Figure 6-16 in the 2020 datasheet update.

    That looks like this,

And then here is the V7 file for this set  up,

    TL072 with corrected noise model.TSC
