Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this post.

 I have purchased a nice dac which uses an Burr Brown opa2604 opamp.

 Can anyone suggest a good upgrade. I was thinking of the ever popular BB opa627ap but have been told this is quite old and should really consider a modern one.

 Can anyone please advise, something which works well in the opa2604's current environment (voltage, current, etc)

    Hi Mark,

     

    The OPA1642 is a great drop in option for this device designed for audio applications. The OPA1642 is the audio version of the OPA2141 and the high precision OPA2140.  If you are looking for a newer version of the OPA627, then you might consider the OPA827.  If you need additional information please feel free to give me a call.

     The dac I have is the firestone fubar 2, what audio differences would I hear between the opa827 and opa1642

     Finally how do these two compare against the Burr Brown opa 627

    Okayyy forget the last post, found the answer on google. The opa827 seems to be the one, can you advise which browndog adapator to use as i will need 2 to replace the opa2604, the opa827 being single channel while opa 2604 is 2 channel.
