INA240: distortion vs frequency

Part Number: INA240

With regard to figure 24 (THD+N vs. frequency) in datasheet, can you provide some details as to how the distortion will manifest itself relative to the INA240's ability to make accurate current measurements.

Thanks

  • Hi Tony,

The distortion is low for low frequency signals. However when frequency increases, so does distortion. What this means is a 200KHz pure sine wave at the input may no longer look like a pure sine wave at the output.

When it comes to your measurements, you may want to see if you need to measure higher frequency signals. If you do, then such distortion might need to be taken into consideration in error budget.

    Regards, Guang
